English Copy Editing

Our English copyediting services include, but are not limited to, completely reviewing the text and making corrections or accurate revisions with attention to errors of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, inaccurate scientific terms, consistency, logic of presentation, English usage, style, and even spacing, in either British English or American English. In addition, we have the expertise to provide authors with practical comments on how to write high quality research manuscripts  (Seeing Is Believing). In summary, you write it, we polish it.

Editing Process

English copyediting is the last step of your manuscript preparation before submission to your selected journal. It is imperative that you comply with the instructions to authors for the target journal. We prefer that you submit your manuscript in Microsoft Word for Windows or Macintosh format, depending on the requirements of your publisher in their respective instructions to authors. We recommend Times Roman or similar serif font and left-, rather than full-justification, as this enhances readability and facilitates editing. We do not format tables and figures, but please provide them for our editing references.

You will receive an email directly from one of our front desk managers confirming that we are proceeding with the cost estimate. The front desk manager will provide a cost estimate for editing your manuscript in our cost estimation system and the estimate will be delivered to your email. We will not proceed with the editing without your approval (click the Accept button on the cost estimate Web page). Once you accept, we will begin to process your manuscript for editing. At this time, you will receive the invoice with detailed payment information.

Our front desk manager will email you when the revisions have been completed and the edited manuscript will be attached to the email. Two copies of your revised document will be sent to you: one showing all of our changes using the ‘Track Changes’ function and one with all of our changes accepted. Please review your edited manuscript carefully, and inform us if you have any questions or concerns. If you change or add anything, please mark them clearly and inform us. Quality is our company’s core value. Before you submit your revised manuscript according to our corrections and comments, we can review your document again if necessary.

We will issue a free English editing certificate if we have copy edited your entire manuscript.

Translation Service

We also provide English translation service from major languages (such as, German, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish). This is a one-stop service – your manuscript will be translated to English by translators with a biomedical background and the English will be edited for submission. For additional information, click here.

Rewriting Service / Paraphrasing Service

The first thing an SCI journal does is to check a submitted manuscript with a plagiarism-checking software, such as iThenticate and Turnitin. If the similarity index of the plagiarism check is too high, whether the “copied” parts are the same as the author’s previous publications or as others, the manuscript will not be considered for review. Our editors and writers can rewrite or paraphrase your manuscript in native English to reduce the similarity index to an acceptable level.

Manuscript Shortening

We understand that writing in a second language can sometimes make a paper longer than necessary. If your manuscript exceeds the journal’s word limit, our editors are here to help. We’ll carefully simplify and refine your text using natural, native English, making sure it stays true to your original meaning while reading more clearly, professionally, and concisely — giving you the best chance at a smooth journal submission.

Journal Recommendation

Choosing the right journal is one of the most important steps toward getting your work published. To support you, we carefully review the content, originality, and significance of your manuscript and provide a personalized list of recommended journals. Each journal is selected and prioritized based on its relevance to your research, impact factor, and likelihood of acceptance — helping you submit with confidence.

Pre-Submission Evaluation

Getting ready to submit your research can feel overwhelming — but you don’t have to do it alone. Our team of experienced editors and subject specialists will thoroughly assess your manuscript’s scientific quality, originality, and readiness for submission. We’ll highlight your strengths and identify areas for improvement, offering practical, constructive feedback to help you refine your work and give it the strongest chance of success in peer review.
